History: Will Taubin

I’ve been really into looking through my archives of old pics of our team riders lately.  I think it’d be cool to show off our old riders throughout the years and to give a lil’ history on them.  I’ve been getting comments lately about what happened to Will Taubin, so I figure why not start with Will.  Will, aka The Mad Russian was ahead of the curve when it came to grinds and etc. He fired insane grinds out left and right, the above pic of a backwards crooked grind in NYC was no different.  He always did the tricks people wanted or talked about w/o questioning it.  I’ve lost contact with Will over the years but last I heard, he was spinning records and he enrolled in some classes at his local college. Update: Just heard from Rob Doleki that Will has been riding a bit in the city and has a 2 year old son.  That’s awesome news to hear.

Who should we do next?

I first saw Will in “RIDE BMX” awesome style, probably in my top 3 favorite riders(he has the best street style IMO) caught him in a few more videos that I can’t remember; best wishes for him in the new year.

…..WILL TAUBIN IS THE WHOLE REASON, I HAVE DEVELOPED MY VERY, OWN STYLE….

THIS MAN SHOW’ED ME WHAT STREET, AND STYLE REALY ARE. HE SHOW’ED ME, HOW A BMX BIKE,
SHOULD BE RIDDEN. WILL TAUBIN HAS INSPIRED ME SO MUCH. HE IS THE REASON, THAT AFTER 9 YEARS,
OF SHREDDING STREET SPOTS, & PARKS, BMX IS STILL AS MUCH FUN, AS THE FIRST, DAY OUT SHREDDING.
IT’S GUY’S LIKE YOU, THAT INSPIRE GUY’S LIKE ME. THANK’S FOR EVERYTHING WILL. I HOPE TO SEE MORE OF YOU MAN..

Will Taubin-insane brakeless bmx rider. Back in the day this guy one of the best street riders to come out of New York. Crazy yeah maybe but truly a brakeless master that never reached the true success he should have received. When I think of brakeless bmx street legends from New York I think of guys like Will Taubin, Ed Delarosa and the original brakeless master Troy Mcmurray. These guys along with the original ANIMAL CREW lead by Ralph Senisi took brakeless street riding to a whole new level some of which has never been reached since.
