“Lets Cook” from Alex Raban on Vimeo.

Well this is certainly a present surprise to wake up to! Raban, Victor Galindo(G) and a few of his local homies made this edit on thiei usual stomping grounds around the central coast. “Footage that was stuck inside the vortex of the camera body was discovered recently and brought to the internet. Featuring Mr Rogers, Al Bundy, Victor Galindo, Jake Dusang, Austin Wyatt Iliff, Chris Perez and myself.” – Raban

Long Weekend Warriors.

Mastroni | 03.27.13

Since nobody involved here actually has a traditional job, Alex Platt and I decided to make up our own long ‘weekend’ by starting on Saturday night with a 4 hour trek up to Alex Raban-ville in the California’s central coast to hang out with Verve Energy spokesman Victor Galindo, and of course Chef Chachi himself. This handsome no-eyebrow’d human above was not involved in our trip, but literally every time we go up there we see him standing on a corner reading passages from the bible at traffic, or perhaps examining tree bark and taking notes. Also, Raban may or may not be friends with this lunatic. Now, on to the good stuff… more

Raban & Victor ‘Stay Tru Street Poetry’ Edit.

Mastroni | 03.21.13

Stay Tru Street Poetry from Alex Raban on Vimeo.

Awesome edit Alex Raban put together featuring footage of him, Victor Galindo, Conor Caron, and all their central coast homies. I’m not sure what’s better about Victor’s last clip, the massive barspin or Raban’s reaction…amazing! Alex has been off the horse for a minute with some knee complications, but he still managed to get a clip on his new gold Bermuda…damn that thing looks good!

Platt, Victor, Tate, & Raban @ The Wreck Jam Quick Video.

Volume Bikes: Volume & Friends @ The Wreck Jam from 180 Distribution on Vimeo.

Last week an injured Alex Raban dressed up in his Sunday best (a gold Dodge Caravan rim medallion) to host the first ever jam at The Wreck DIY spot in Nipomo, CA. Many slices were consumed courtesy of Raban’s Dad’s pizza shop, many Volume prizes were thrown out, and good times were had by all. I love filming at things like this because everything for the most part is super in the moment…sometimes perfect, sometimes real loose, but hey it’s raw BMX at it’s finest…so I decided to take a similar approach to the editing process as well. Here’s a quick half hour in Final Cut featuring Volume heads Victor Glindo, Tate Roskelley, Alex Platt, our good buddy Shawn “Elf” Walters, my dog, & last (and most certainly least) a hot ass channel 12 news reporter, all doing their thang up in the central coast. Enjoy.

Weekend @ The Wreck Jam.

Mastroni | 02.11.13

We all had one hell of a weekend making the trek from Long Beach all the way up to Raban-ville aka middle of gosh darn nowhere Nipomo, California for one of the funnest jams I’ve been to in a long time. Raban and Victor’s DIY “Wreck” spot for those of you who don’t know used to be a community recreation center many years ago and is now just a lonely foundation off the 101. Many great things have been accomplished at this spot by the Volume crew including most notably Tate’s crate slide to over duster and Jonas’ insane nollie in the Volume California edit (if you need the refresher.) With credible rumors of the city’s plans to tear down their spot, Raban decided to throw a big jam in hopes of bringing some attention to how much the kids in the Central Coast need that spot to stay around…or at the very least to go out in a blaze of glory. He even called the channel 12 news to come out and shoot a story, on which he decided to present himself to the normal world wearing a Dodge Caravan rim spray painted gold and made into the largest medallion known to man. Could Alex be any more G? Rappers everywhere must envy his swag. Check out some snaps from the day after the jump… more

Victor Galindo & Friends Edit.

Mastroni | 01.23.13

Some of Victor’s homies from out of town came to his hometown of Nipomo, CA in what appears to be a G’d out ice cream truck for two days and came up with this edit. Our young billionaire to be gets the ender with a trick I’ve never personally seen him do before. #progessionsession

Victor Galindo Welcome To Volume Edit.

Voume Bikes: Victor Galindo Welcome To Volume Edit. from 180 Distribution on Vimeo.

We’d like to proudly introduce this young whipper snapper to the team in style….but before we get started I feel like you should know a few things about little Victor since he’s most likely a new face to you. Victor hails from Nipomo (nohomo) California where it smells like poop all the time. He is the protege to Alex Raban’s positive mentoring skills and together they spend their days riding the Nipomo equivalent of FBM ghetto street comp, AKA “The Rec.” He in turn has dialed in his peg skills along with ridiculous tricks like decades off nothing but a tiny pallet box jump. Victor also may or may not be involved in a very lucrative energy drink pyramid scheme which he claims will have him whippin a Benz on 24’s at some point this year. Now that you know Alex Raban’s little brother better, give this edit a watch or 10…..get it? ….like a decade, man. Featuring footy from Victor’s home turf in the central California coast, along with some Arizona spots in the mix.

Volume In Arizona: Days 4 & 5 In Tuscon.

Mastroni | 12.10.12

For our final days of our short and sweet Arizona adventure we decided pack up and head east for two days and a night of endless spots, nonstop riding, and of course our usual shenanigans. How cool are we right? Yeah we know. Check our our Tuscon good times below..

Volume In Arizona: Day 3.

Mastroni | 12.6.12

VBC (Vacation Bible Camp??) Day 3 started off with some heat from Broc and Matt Cordova (above truckin’ by Erik Hilburn) at this amazing bank to rail spot that you may recognize from Road Fools 11 in which Steven Hamilton abubaca’d it…which is insane by the way. Now that bikes are significantly lighter and 18 year old kids are built like Hercules, Broc was able to step to the task of bunnyhopping up to pegs on that rail from the backside, to over into the bank. The person with the highest bunnyhop on Road Fools 11 would be Mr. Kimbrough and I doubt the thought of doing a pegs to over at this spot when they were there even crossed his mind. My how times have changed ey? Peep another photo of the above setup and more from our day below…

Volume In Arizona: Day 2.

Mastroni | 12.4.12

Ah yes, the perfect spot that ruined everyone’s buttholes and testicles was how our second day in the desert began….well, almost everyone. Bahlman on the other hand (above) jumped in and laced the most perfect ice to table first effin try. Victor was not so lucky and got claimed by an ice 180. Broc actually managed a dope crankarm 180 as well, but not before credit-carding his setup a few times. I have a pretty deece clip of Broc going around the corner and examining his own ass to see if there was any serious damage…whatever he was doing back there definitely did not look entirely heterosexual. More below…

Volume In Arizona: Day 1.

Mastroni | 12.3.12

It’s Monday Monday Monday and that means that we get to start dropping some daily updates on you for the duration of your work/school week showcasing our time out here in Arizona. Drew Hoss hit me up a little while ago about Gordy’s Bike Shop‘s big annual jam on December 1st, so I decided wrangle up the likes of Broc Raiford, Billy Perry, Matt Cordova, and Victor Galindo(g), to make the trek out into the desert to meet up with Drew and Eric Bahlman for a little last minute filming trip based around the Jam. After a long night of driving and surviving we made it to the shop for Saturday morning. Check out mucho photos courtesy of Erik Hilburn aka “Evil Joey” below, but not before giving Cordova’s nac nac seat grab above a second or third look….how does that even make sense!?
