Hi-8 camera enthusiast Eric Bahlman dropped his recent “Hi-8 & Good Friends” edit not too long ago and today he followed up with his very own part for you guys. Click to watch Eric casually killing it on the streets, skateparks, pools, & more. As the kids would say today, “Dat fakie manual to invert doe..” Via Dig.
Bahlman put together this awesome Hi-8 camera edit together with footy he’s been diligently gathering for a while. Amongst many other pro riders, this edit also features clips from our dudes Josh Clemens, Cody & Dawson Clark, and DeMarcus Paul. Eric did a great job with this and it reminded me of being a kid pedaling around with your friends. Via Dig BMX.
Today we’re very proud to drop Josh & Eric’s split section from The Finer Things DVD. With riding styles that couldn’t really differ more from eachother (left foot forward/cassette, right foot forward/freecoaster wizard) we found it fitting for Josh & Eric to share a lengthy splitter to mix the video up a little bit. From Josh’s style and bike control to Eric’s back wheel ballerina wizardry, we know you’ll be impressed. This is also one of my personal favorite sections in the video and probably my favorite song as well. Enjoy!
To be on the same list with absolute legends like Rick Moliterno, Chad DeGroot and Krt Schmidt is a huge award all on its own but to make the top 10 best freecoaster rider is quite an honor. Eric has been killing the freecoaster game for years and we’re always in awe of what he comes up with. Stoked to see our man get some recognition. Check out the rest of the list here>>
“Eric Bahlman has been running a freecoaster long before the trend fully set in, but it’s here recently that Eric has really been making a name for himself with some of the most ridiculous backwards combinations ever. If you were to crown the king of backwards manuals, Eric would take the title no questions asked.” – Vital BMX
“For our March/April issue, we contacted our contributing photographers with an idea…an idea to shoot a photo at a specific time on a specific day. The goal was to show a glimpse at the sheer amount of BMX that happens all over the country (and world). The results we got back were more than we hoped for. 16 photographers from 10 different cities came together to shoot for this project and it’s almost staggering to realize that it all happened at the same exact time. Thank you to everyone (see below) who took part in the project…maybe we’ll do another next year?” – RIDEbmx
If you want the full story and back story on a lot of the photos, please pick up the Mar/Apr issue of the mag.
Our own Eric “Popeye Arms” Bahlman has up a new Bermuda V2 bike check at Shadow. Be sure to check it out to see what all the new parts he rides are and some new shots of his sample Mad Dog bars and new Anchor forks. Check it out here >>
If you follow along with us on Instagram you may have noticed we’ve been posting little 15 second 2-3 clips videos of some extras from The Finer Things. If you haven’t, the good news is that we’re posting them on our YouTube channel as well. Here’s the first round of extras from DeMarcus. You can check out Bahlman, Raban, and D right here too, which are in a handy little playlist for your viewing convenience. We’ll be posting one one of these a day till I’m out of extra footy. Hi-8 is a project that Eric Bahlman put together over the past 6 months on his old camcorder. A classic home video feel, check it out!
Hi-8 is a project I started this last summer using my old Sony TRV-608 camcorder. I dug it out of storage and brought her out in the streets again to film my friends just like we did back in our high school days. Just us out riding bikes and having fun! – Eric Bahlman
This is awesome! If you happen to know both Eric Bahlman and Shadow TM Ryan Chadwick, then you already know that they’re basically the same human. BMX has brought these long lost brothers together many many years ago, and has recently brought them to Tempe Skatepark for several Tuesdays in a row to make this video. Vital.
