Riding With DeMarcus

Brian | 08.20.14

Living in CA, it’s hard to get from spot to spot without a car for transportation.   Our main man in SD, DeMarcus Paul, has been without a car for bit and still manages to ride some of the best spots that SD has to offer.   DeMarcus breaks it down on what he goes through on not having a car to get around town and what the advantages/ disadvantages are.  Check out the interview and photos after the jump. more

Raban Lost Sequence.

The act of shooting a dope sequence in BMX I feel is generally pretty overlooked. Sure, not everything makes an awesome sequence but even when it does, we rarely (for whatever reason) will use a sequence over an awesome single frame for things like ads and so-fourth. Why? I really don’t know…but I do know that I’m definitely down with the sequence……(oooooo wa ah ah ahh) Here’s Raban with a crook to feeble 180 bar by Joey Cobbs from our Volume In California Trip way back when…

We usually try and keep new goods/colors on the DL for a bit till they get closer to the release but since it got blasted out on Instagram already, we figured we’d do a proper photo feature on Broc’s new Vessel flat blk/wht splatter frame.  Due to release in Oct, be sure to hit up your local Volume dealer sooner than later to order one.
And yes, Broc isn’t wearing shoes.  We like to keep our studio paper clean…

Broc’s New Dan’s Comp Catalog Cover

Brian | 08.11.14

Couldn’t be any more stoked to see our boy, Broc Raiford snatching up the latest cover of the Dan’s Comp Summer/ Back To School catalog.  Dans360.com also did a mini interview about shooting the cover and what else is going on.  “Well, my Volume Bikes bossman Brian Castillo had a cover on this exact same setup, years back, whipping the gap and he tipped us off to the spot. It was sketchy getting up there and the roofs themselves were pretty high. I gave it a few 180′s and on the roll out, I got close to the edge and it definitely got my blood pumping. Once Joey Cobbs was ready to shoot, I sent it and luckily, didn’t have any close calls.” -Broc
