Carytown Bicycle Company, VA

Braden @ Carytown Bicycle Company in Virginia just hooked one of their racers, Shawn, with a Volume Creedence. Its looking really dope.

Here's a close-up picture of Shawn's chromoly speed machine. If you really want to get a better look at it, hopefully you can catch a glimpse of it when Shawn blows by you on the track.

Shawn's stoked, Braden's stoked, we're stoked. Not much else to say.

Check out Carytown's Blog here: CBC

Village Cycle Benefit Jam Time!

Village Cycle in Redding, CA is holding their Jam this Saturday. It's a BMX benefit Jam. All the proceeds are going to constructing a Bike-friendly Skate Park, which we need more of, by the way. They've got classes for every skill level, including your little brothers who you just got on a bike last week. If your in the area, make plans, bum rides, or scrounge up some gas money to help out the spread of bike-friendly parks, and of course, to get your boost on.

Nek'n It in Colorado!

Kyle @ The Great Divide in Pueblo, CO decided to redneck out this past weekend with one of his friend's Bronco's. 3 great things about this photo: #1: Its a Ford. #2: I'm from the South, so I feel at home looking at the photos, and have a great appreciation for the quality of this work. #3: Notice from the 1st pick, that the overhang creates a kind of spoiler, so this Bronco will hold its own with the likes of Jeff Gordon.

I've heard a couple of rumors about the Bronco's next modes: A kegerator of PBR to be installed, and a full Rhynolite Bronco wrap. If your in the neighborhood and need your rearend removed or need an awesome bike, go say see what's up @ Great Divide.

Eastern Boarder Jam Time!

Eastern Boarder (a shop I'm sure most of you have heard of) in Massachusetts is holding another awesome Jam at Lynn Public Skatepark in June. Mark your calender, get your plane tickets, and fill the car with gas to make it out there.

You've got a month to get your bikes dialed in, so head on down to Eastern Boarder, in the meantime, to pick up some new parts and get those bikes smooth and fresh! (They've also got a nice "Biz" signature 781 frame in stock to rep MA, so check it out and make it your next frame)

Liberty Cycle Works, Irving, TX BMX Contest

The city of Irving, TX is putting on a BMX (and Skate) contest at their local skate park. They've put Liberty Cycle works in charge of making it happen. Its good to see a city supporting BMX, and making sure that it's an awesome event by putting it into the hands of those who know more about it than them. If your in the Dallas or Irving area, you should definitely check it out. Looks like there will be Bar-b-que, need I say more?

If you have any questions, you can contact Liberty Cycle here: 972-790-8103

$138 Rocks...

Apparently, the pet rock is coming back in style, and Nintendo wanted to do a consumer test about it. Needless to say, it backfired. Here's the article:

New Employee #4

Kevin is a new addition to the Volume/Demolition staff rep'in the phones as a Sales Rep. He hails from Durham, NC, ironically does not like Nascar, and loves sweet tea.

"Glad to be a part of the team and looking forward to working with some legends, and cold-calling a shop near you! Shout out to family and bmx homies in NC!"

Conspiricy Theory

Occasionally we have "documentary night" over at Dave Jacob's house. We all gather around the flat screen learning about political scandals, natural phenomenons, old Hoffman movies...pretty much anything and everything. Recently came across this little conspiracy theory. There's some solid evidence in here...pretty hard to argue against. You be the judge.

Had some time to kill before my flight, so I checked out some odd items of historical significance. Despite being creeped out, I had to admire the attention to detail.

RIDE 150th Issue!

Last nite the guys over at RIDE had a nice get together for there 150th issue of RIDE.

Me,Trevor and Sho headed out after work to check out the action. They had a nice box jump, a vert wall made out of past covers, a bunny hop contest, and they open the gates to the mini ramp they have in the back.

I got to hang out and see alot of guys that i haven't seen in a looonngg time. It was a good time. If you don't have one already, get out there and pick up a copy of the 150th issue. Rob Wise has a interview that was the talk of the party. I don't want to ruin it for you, but i will say one thing.....think bank-to-rail..ok? Over ice-to-back over fakie bar!

Working for the weekend

Greg Sumida came in for the weekend to do some riding and log some pictures for the up and comming Gypsy '09 cataloge. Rumor has it that it will be bigger and better than ever this year. Keep an eye out for it dropping within the next few months. Anyway, here are a couple of pictures (taken with Greg's digi cam) from a session at the Santa Ana Civic center on Sunday.

Totally Rad!

This was given to me by one of the kids who lives in my neighborhood. He swore that Eddie Fiola's aunt lives a few houses down from his. I didn't think much of it until he brought over a signed photo that Eddie's aunt had given him. I guess its a pretty small world even in southern California. (Note: kids, don't be fooled by the black and white...they did have color photographs back in the 80's).

Almost a gas leak?

So, upon unlocking and opening the door to the office yesterday morning I was greeted by a face full of noxious smelling fumes. None of the other guys wanted to go into the building because it smelled like it was some sort of gas leak mixed with burnt hair. Robert decided to call the Fire Department to have them investigate. It seems that the real reason he wanted us to call was so he could ride on the side of the truck...

Anyhow, the Fire Dept. (with the help of Castillo himself) couldn't figure out the source of the smell and told us to just air out the building. I think the firemen were a little bummed out that we called them because something stunk. Oh well, smells fine now, we still have no clue what it was. Do you?

Texas Loosey's fo Sho

Yesterday we celebrated Sho's (our shipper) "birthday" at a Texas style restaurant where the girls wore skimpy leathers complete with ass-less chaps. Little did they know, Sho's birthday is in August. Regardless of that fact, Sho said it was his "best birthday ever."
